German folk metal veterans SuidAkrA have issued the following year-end update:
"First of all, thanks to all SuidAkrA fans for showing up at our UK gigs with Saxon and Anvil! We hope to come back soon with a better slot and a longer setlist. In the meantime, the ReUnation - A Tribute To Running Wild sampler was released. Check out our contribution of "Marooned" on MySpace.
An eventful year is drawing to an end. With Crógacht we have released one of the best received albums of our career so far, we played a four week US tour, shows in China, Wacken Open Air and quite a few more great concerts. Unfortunately our European tour had to be called off due to illness - but you can't win them all!
In 2010 we'll step down a bit from playing live and concentrate on writing a new album for a 2011 release. Enjoy the holiday season and have a happy new year!

Anvil "Thumb Hang" Available For Streaming
The Anvil song "Thumb Hang" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The newly recorded, never-before-released bonus track is featured on the re-release of the group's latest album, "This is Thirteen", which will finally be given proper national distribution on CD and vinyl on September 15 via VH1 Classic Records. The collectible double vinyl LP boasts newly re-recorded versions of Anvil classics "Metal on Metal" and "666". The album, originally recorded in 2007 and produced by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy), was primarily available directly from the band via their web site and at their concerts.
